China·Keqiao textile index adopted the scientific statistic index theory and the method of constructing the index by multiple levels, two ways and weighted composition, based on the scientific classification to textiles of China textile city, chose the subjective and objective data which reflect market and industrial scale, and apply index system consisting of a whole set of index which wholly reflects the sales price trend of domestic and foreign trade in China textile city and development situation of Shaoxing county textile industry.

① The index is a complete index system consisting of individual index, including price index, prosperity index and foreign trade index. From commodity categories and supervision data, it fully reflects the changes degree of Keqiao textile city market and related industrial development at different aspects and levels.

② The index is a basic index. May, 2007 is the base preiod of every category index. The base point of price index is 100, and the base point of prosperity index is 1000.

③ Price index, market prosperity index, industrial prosperity index and foreign trade index of index systerm center chose different textile products. Classification system, representative samples and categories are differentiated according to the various textile categories involved in different index. Textiles price indes and market prosperity index are classified into 5 main categories, 30 secondary categories and 201 lowest categories; Industrial prosperity index has 5 main categories and 27 secondary categories; textile foreign trade index has 10 main categories and 40 lowest categories (refered from national customs standards)

④ Textiles price index are updated once a week, while prosperity index and foreign trade index are updated once a month.

⑤ Price index and prosperity index of the index system set the transaction volume as the weighting data, and get the data by adopting step-by-step crossed weighting method. Application weigt=(current weight +base period weigth)/2. It can diliminate the structural influence caused by current weight alteration, and avoid the index defects caused by the real transaction volume alteration hidden by fix weigt

⑥ Each composition index, featured products and applicant companies are defined based on certain principle and selecting samples in random. Every category data is caculated from surveyed data, which can not repesent as the whole statistic.

⑦ The prosperity index of the index system is constructed according to comprehensive analysis theory, different from the normal prosperity index. All propserity index set up a whole balance sheet with individual data index.

⑧ The index have the feature of China textile city market with market and industrial feature, focusing on foreign trade market. The seasonal feature will also be embodied in the index.
